CATALOGS ACCESSORIES SHARPENERS

Welcome to this extension of the 110 Folding Hunter history page. Here you will
find an
assortment of the materials closely related to the care and maintenance of
your 110, or other Buck Knives.

I've provided below a collective history of catalogs,
both the Dealer Catalogs and
Consumer Catalogs, along with the available maintenance merchandise to keep
your Buck Knife in tip-top condition.

You'll find below, in the early years, there is a greater abundance of the catalog
material. The early decades are full of new knife introductions from year to year,
and the various materials below will help identify those "first appearances" in
the descriptions below each related publication.

As you get further down the page, into the late seventies and beyond, you'll find
the maintenance merchandise starts to grow in abundance and variation. Enjoy!

Literature ID Codes

As you will discover, there are no specific years printed on some of the different literature distributed by
Buck over the last 15 years.
In the early 1980s, the different paper inserts placed inside Buck Knife boxes,
along with the consumer guide pamphlets and catalogs found at retail locations, started displaying a code
number from the
marketing department for the printers. It was generally found on the front bottom left
or right
corner of the single-sided paper, and on the reverse side of pamphlets, as well as the back
cover of catalogs, again, in the bottom left or right corners.

In the images below, you will find a breakdown of the codes to help identify the item you have in hand.

Schrodinger's 110  1987
If you know the thought experiment of 'Schrodinger's Cat', this is the same paradox. This packaging began
to show up on store racks in early 1987. I had purchased one that the packaging was badly damaged on.
Upon removing the knife, I found it to have the date code stamp for 1986 (86V2). So, with leaving this
knife in the package for now, we do not know if this 110 is a 1986 or another year.

** All dates are approximate.  There were no specific records kept before date codes. **
